It helps provide a governance structure that empowers all employees.

What Is Continuous Improvement:

• It is a cultural mindset of continuous improvement across the organization.
• It helps drive root-causing and cross-functional accountability across the enterprise.
• It is a standardized, consistent and fact-based approach to problem-solving and process improvement.

What Continuous Improvement is Not:

• It is not about changing the way Argos manufactures its products.
• It is not intended to add new projects. Continuous improvement will be designed to align with current priorities and initiatives.
• It is not a one-time management initiative.

The Continuous Improvement Program Provides Us With Two Additional Tools.

Lean: Lean is a systematic approach that improves business operations through the elimination of waste

o Evaluate processes from a customer perspective to determine whether a value was created or not.

o Classify waste into one of seven categories to identify techniques for Bottleneck elimination

o Removal of waste and non-value-added activity.

o Apply Lean techniques to eliminate waste from the process and sustain efficiency gains.

Six Sigma: Six Sigma is a statistical approach to drive defect-free process performance across the business by reducing variation

o Six Sigma is based on the principle that eliminates errors and variation results in reduced costs, reduced cycle time, and improved customer satisfaction

o The objective of a Six Sigma is to reduce process variation

o Six Sigma refers to having a process that will result in fewer than 3.4 defects per one million opportunities

o Defects are a failure to meet all of a customer’s acceptance criteria
