This last month, our Cement technical team met in Chattanooga, TN to review our current operations and discuss plans for the future development of our line of cement products and initiatives over the course of three days.

Day one offered the chance for our technical, operations and sales experts to come together to share and discuss important topics such as Argos’ journey towards producing net zero carbon cement, Argos’ Innovation Center, and the development and implementation of our outstanding products including EcoStrong PLC. This meeting also included discussions on several new and emerging technologies and practices in our field and how we may be able to implement these in our current operations including joining the EcoClay alliance to contribute to the mitigation of climate change. This FLSmidth initiative seeks to reduce CO₂ emissions from cement production by up to 50%.

Day Two’s discussions centered around review of new updates to the ASTH standards and discussion around our Super UHPC product that comprises a series of unique cementitious materials and fibers, giving it outstanding mechanical and durability properties, resulting in incredibly resilient structures. Day two’s meeting also provided a chance to hear some import reports from the field, showcasing topics of current developments in our ready-mix and cement markets in the US as well as a technical overview from our Caribbean region.

Day three featured important updates and reports from all of our cement plant operations, sharing important achievements and trials each have faced over the past year, as well as an important masonry update to discuss important developments within that market. The meeting was concluded with an insightful evaluation of all the topics discussed over the other two days and established a good view of Argos USA’s current and future cement operations.

We want to thank all those who attended the meeting and a special thanks to those who presented during the meeting.
