On Friday, October 14 the Harleyville Cement Plant sponsored the first annual PULL for the ARK Sporting Clays tournament to benefit The ARK of SC. The ARK provides hope and relief to families living with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementia (ADRD) through support services such as respite care, support groups, education, caregiver consultations, resource referrals and community development. The ARK of SC was founded in 1996 and operates as a non-profit organization that has been recognized by the South Carolina Governor’s Office as a model respite program for statewide application.

A total of 15 teams competed in the tournament, with each member of the team attempting to hit 100 clay targets. The winning team hit a total of 320 out of 400 targets, and the “Top Gun” hit 92 out of 100 clay targets. The day ended with an awards ceremony and a delicious Lowcountry Boil and Oyster Roast dinner. Thanks to all of the participants, sponsors and vendors the event raised over $10,000 for The ARK of SC, directly benefiting community members living in the Lowcountry of South Carolina.
