With the Olympics opening Friday, July 23, two-hundred and five countries will send a total of 11,000 of their best athletes to compete. Japan will host hundreds of competitions, giving each competitor a chance to bring home a gold, silver, or bronze medal.

Similarly, The 2021 NRMCA Think First Safety Contest received 1,675 individual plant entries, which is the highest number of plants to enter the contest in a single year. All entries included safety records from calendar year 2020. NRMCA has estimated that there are currently 7,000 plants in the United States. The largest category for honored plants was Gold, with 1,123 Excellence in Safety Awards. The Silver category had 14 Excellence in Safety Awards. The Bronze category had eighty awards. The total number of plants receiving “Excellence in Safety” awards in 2021 is 1,217, which is an all-time high for the program.

The 3-tiers of “Excellence in Safety Awards” are broken down into Gold, Silver and Bronze:

  • Gold – An incident rate equal to zero
  • Silver – An incident rate greater than zero and equal to or less than 2.40 (1/2 the industry average)
  • Bronze – An incident rate greater than 2.40 and less than 4.80, the industry average

Out of the 1,217 “Excellence in Safety” awards, Argos USA received a total of ninety awards! Of the ninety, eighty-three of the awards were in the gold level. Leaving the additional seven awards in the bronze category.

Safety is always a top priority for Argos. These awards are an excellent testimony to our commitment to keeping all Argos employees safe.
