We are excited to see continued progress on the Memorial Park Land Bridge in Houston, TX, as it is nearing its completion. We have watched the 70-million-dollar project grow from the ground up during the last two years. This project is not only a wonderful addition to the Houston area but also a testament to how concrete can be used to develop sustainable infrastructure.
The land bridge plays a key role in Memorial Park’s Prairie Restoration project. The goal of this program is to re-introduce endangered native Gulf Coast prairie and additional wetlands to areas north and south of Memorial Drive. A new network of trails will provide safe crossing for people and wildlife. Both prairie and wetlands serve important habitat and stormwater management functions and are a key part of the Park’s ecological restoration to ensure resiliency.
