Concrete prefabs have gained widespread popularity due to their productivity increase and construction time reduction capabilities. At Argos, we are certain that this technology will enable us to continue delivering extraordinary solutions for our customers, which is why we decided to focus our work on a cell called Soluciones Ready to Use (Ready to Use Solutions).

As the name implies, the aim of this cross-cutting team is to develop solutions to serve and transform the world of construction by delivering a high value, ready-to-use or install products, thus promoting higher efficiency in construction projects. A perfect example of this are dry mixes in Colombia and Panama, Casa Para Mí, Concreto de Ultra Alto Desempeño (Ultra High Performance Concrete), and prefabs.

We have currently placed special focus on the latter, particularly on large prefabs for household construction. These prefabs offer a viable alternative for constructions in Colombia and contribute to the transformation of the overall national construction system which, according to the Mackenzie firm, falls well below compared to other countries.

“Mere months ago, none of us could have anticipated studying and learning so much about this technology. In order to make progress, we teamed up with Proyectos y Diseños, a structural design engineering firm that has supported us on designing the structures of real-life projects currently in progress. Also, together with University of los Andes, we have been working on a regulatory exemption scheme that will allow us to make progress on buildings higher than six levels and eventually get to twelve, which is what we had planned since the beginning“, stated Alexander Pedraza, Industrial Business Director.

Alexander and the other cell members will continue to work on creating a faster, more efficient, and more eco-friendly construction alongside great allies such as Constructora Bolívar, Prodesa, Constructora Capital, Amarilo, and Las Galias Constructora.
