This past week was sustainability week, where we focused on the many different ways we try to make Argos one of the best and safest places to work. We interviewed several of our outstanding employees and found out what safety in our industry means to them. We also take a look at how Argos is using new and inventive ways to prepare our drivers to stay safe and be prepared. Of course, we also delved into how Argos has adapted to ensure all our employees stay safe during the COVID-19 pandemic. All this and more can be found below as we review sustainability week.

Day one: To kick off sustainability week, we headed to our Atlanta training center and sat in on one of our new driver training sessions with Donnie Webb, an instructor at the facility.

Day two: On the second day, we traveled around to some of our different facilities and interviewed several managers, employees, and contractors to see how safety plays an everyday role at Argos. They explained how they enforce safety practices in their daily routines, and highlighted how many of our safety programs have impacted their co-workers as well as themselves.

Day three: If day three could be summed up in one word, it would be innovation. Wednesday was filled with testimonials from several of our new drivers who had just completed our virtual driver simulator. We were able to catch a first hand glimpse at what it is like to go through this simulation and see just how impactful it is on our new recruits all across the region.

Day four: Day four was a day of review and reflection on the four pillars of the SISO Safety plan.

Day five: Lastly, we tackled one of the biggest safety threats of 2020 and 2021, COVID-19. We took a look at how the global pandemic affected Argos and its operation, focusing on what safety measures we have implemented to keep us all healthy and safe.
