The Argos ALERT team at our Roberta cement plant in Alabama recently held a joint training exercise with the City of Calera Fire and Rescue team at our facility. The teams handled a fake situation that dispatched first responders, and then the  Argos Alert team escorted them on-site and complete the drill together. After finishing their exercises, our team took the members of Calera Fire and Rescue on a tour of our facility, evaluating the different areas of the plant and discussing what to do if there ever was a real emergency.

These joint exercises are invaluable tools in preparing our teams for what to do in an emergency and help strengthen the plant’s culture of safety. These kinds of drills are held throughout the year and help better the ALERT Team’s emergency communication skills, patient assessment, CPR, and Rope Rescue skills. In addition, drills they hold on-site provide first responders with first-hand experience in the plant, gaining knowledge of our facility.

We are grateful to be able to work with the City of Calera Fire and Rescue and for their willingness to learn about our facility to be better prepared in case of emergency. This collaboration not only enhances our own emergency response capabilities but also fosters a strong bond between our Argos ALERT team and local first responders.
