Argos USA continues their support of the American Society of Civil Engineers’ Concrete Canoe Competition by donating materials to the Georgia Tech University team. Argos has contributed to the team’s efforts for the past several years. This year we helped through a donation of 3 bags (94 lbs.) of White Portland Cement and 3 buckets of fly ash from our concrete lab in Cumming, GA.

The Georgia Tech team held their pour day in early December where they were able to successfully cast their canoe without any major issues. Their team consisted of a crew of 25 students with both of their faculty advisors on hand. The canoe took about 6 hours from the initial safety walkthrough to cleaning off the tools. Tobias Kopp, the team leader, reached out saying, “I am proud of our team and all the work they put into the competition this past semester. I wanted to thank Argos again for their sponsorship of the team.”
