In Alpharetta, members of our team took on a special mission to bring some fun to families this holiday season. These team members went on a toy-shopping spree, buying games, dolls, and stuffed animals and donated everything to the Ronald McDonald House in Atlanta. This fantastic charity helps families during a child’s medical crisis, which can be even more difficult during the holidays. These toys are distributed to those children in need and, hopefully, bring comfort and joy.
The charity helps families be close during a child’s medical crisis. They help reduce stress and financial burden for them too. Of course, it helps them improve their quality of sleep and quality of life, but it also helps establish a network of support to help them cope and provides peace of mind knowing the hospital and child are nearby.
Through this program, they have been able to provide comfort during an extraordinarily difficult time for families. Since 1979, our Atlanta Ronald McDonald Houses have served more than 60,000 families with ill and injured children receiving medical care nearby. The Perimeter house has helped over 35,000 families and opened in June 2008.
