Argos has always believed in doing its part to help keep our environment healthy and beautiful. Recently, it has announced its commitment to creating green solutions in the concrete and cement industries. This includes creating sustainable products and improving the environment, such as concrete and cement that require a low amount of carbon output, help contribute to adaptability, and help promote well-being. This isn’t the only thing Argos is doing to help improve our environment. At our Atlanta Plant, team members continue to volunteer for the «Sweep the Hooch» initiative for the third year to help clean up the Chattahoochee River.

March 27th, 2021 marks the “Sweep the Hooch” initiative’s eleventh successful event! More than 1,200 “Sweep the Hooch” volunteers join the initiative this year at 54 different clean-up sites up and down the Chattahoochee river to collect a total of 35 tons of trash and litter. That is more than a fully loaded cement mixer truck!

Our team from the Atlanta plant was able to collect a whopping 2 tons all by themselves. They were able to quadruple their total from last year. However, the work isn’t done yet. The team plans to sort all the trash they collected to separate out all the recyclables for recycling. Way to go Atlanta plant!
