Florida cement sales team adds another concrete application of PLC green cement, this time in the precast elements for the construction of infrastructure such as Manholes, Curb Inlets, Grate Inlets, FDOT Curb Inlet Tops, End-Walls.

The customer Atlantic TNG was very comfortable using Argos Type I/II cement in their day to day concrete production operation. The sales and technical team, Netty Sheffield and Byron Velasquez, convinced the owner and the production management to try ARGOS sustainable PLC (Portland Limestone Cement) product for their daily operations. Not only does PLC reduce the carbon footprint but may also improve some characteristics of concrete.

After a few weeks of using ARGOS PLC the general superintendent Victor Petriella had only positive comments about Portland Limestone Cement (PLC) Type IL.

Victor stated that the concrete matrix looked and finished better. The “bugholes” (voids in hardened concrete) were greatly reduced and the overall appearance and performance of the product was improved. The compressive strengths were slightly improved as well.  Overall the switch to a more sustainable cement was the way to for this growing precaster owned by Megan Kitchner, a third generation of precaster.
