Our Argos Atlanta Cement Plant & Ready Mix plant in Smyrna, Georgia, were able to come together and donate and help build a 12’X16′ concrete slab that will serve as a patio area for The Collins Food Pantry. This new patio area will be used to create a Garden Market that will help provide fresh vegetables and fruits for the Atlanta Community!

Collins Food Pantry was started in 2009 and has been serving food-insecure residents of zip code 30318 as the main ministry of Collins Memorial UMC for over a decade now. Collins Food Pantry has continued to help those in need during the COVID-19 pandemic. The need to feed the hungry has never been greater in the local community. 

In 2020, Collins Food Pantry, Inc. served over 1.2 million meals to those in need. According to their partner, Atlanta Community Food Bank, a meal is equivalent to one pound of food, which means they donated over 1.2 million pounds of food to the community! In addition to serving meat, rice, beans, legumes, and drinks, the new Community Garden located on the property will supply organic-grown vegetables and fruits for everyone.

We are proud to help the Collins Food Pantry give back to our local communities, and we look forward to a continued partnership in helping to improve more lives.
