Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) are a definition and action framework for an organization’s goals. There are two key components to successfully building a shared goals system:
The O’s (Objectives) are:
- What we want to achieve
- Where we want to achieve it
These are generally qualitative, inspiring sentences. Each goal has Key Results (KR’s) associated with them.
KR’s (Key Results) are:
- The way we measure the goals we are achieving
- The way we know if we are achieving our goal or not
These must be measurable and verifiable and shouldn’t be mistaken for a to-do list.
