We are excited to continue our partnership with a growing data center development in the greater metropolitan area of Atlanta, Georgia. We have played a large part in building two data centers for this high-profile customer since the fall of 2018. With a Portable Plant on location, our mixer trucks don’t even travel paved roadways to deliver concrete to these massive data centers.
Over the past few years, the project has progressed rapidly, completing the first and second phases in a relatively short period of time. When asked about the progress of the project, Rick Edwards, our VP of Ready Mix at Argos USA, responded with,
“This project, located in our Atlanta market, is one that we have been working on for over two years. We have placed over 350,000 cubic yards of concrete to date on this job during Phase 1 & 2. We have been awarded Phase 3 of this project and are anticipating a great start as early as November of this year. This new phase will require an additional 350,000 cubic yards of Argos concrete be poured over the next 24 months. In an effort to aid in the demand of this massive project, we will be placing an additional portable plant on site, which is scheduled to arrive in mid-October.”
When all is said and done, the estimated cost of the data centers will be above $1 billion dollars with more than 2 million square feet of space total. In addition, these data centers will create over 200 local jobs. We are proud to be a part of a project like this that boosts development within our cities and we will continue to provide outstanding support and service to the construction of this data center project.
