Our Raleigh team is providing outstanding solutions for the new Glenlake Three Office building. This project is the latest in a series of projects we have been a part of in this developing office park. For our part, we provided roughly 7,500 yards of concrete with the primary mix being 4000 yards of 3000 psi lightweight material with our specialty fiber added.
These materials added an additional level of difficulty for this pour due to some of the logistical challenges they create. The use of porous aggregates increases the time it takes to dry; hence, to offset this problem and In order to maintain the correct slump for the mixture, aggregates are pre-soaked in water before being added into the cement to reduce the amount of water absorbed from the mix. .When combined, these products created a mixture with the necessary strength while helping eliminate excess weight.
