Objective: Encourage safe browsing habits.

Safe browsing means using the Internet responsibly and consciously, adopting habits that protect your personal information and the Company’s information while you use the browser, email, social media, or any online service, in order to avoid risks such as viruses, fraud, data theft, or exposure to malicious content.

Best Practices for Safe Browsing

  1. Only access trusted websites
  • Verify that they begin with https:// (the “s” stands for secure).
  • Check for a 🔒 padlock in the browser bar.
  • Avoid websites with many pop-up windows or that ask for information without reason.

2. Do not click on suspicious links

3. Use strong and unique passwords

    • Combine letters, numbers, and symbols.
    • Do not use the same password on multiple websites.
    • Use a password manager if they are hard to remember.
    1. Avoid unsecured public Wi-Fi networks
    • Do not enter sensitive information if you are on a public network (cafés, airports, etc.).

    4. Be cautious of “pop-ups”

      • Many of them are fake security alerts or prize notifications intended to deceive you.
      • Do not download anything from them.

      5. Log out of important websites

        • Especially if you are using a shared or public computer.»
