When we mix Argos Cement with an admixture like SOLACHROME, we are able to continue our efforts to help improve our environment. SOLACHROME helps to fight against “heat islands” which the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency defines as, “built up areas that are hotter than nearby rural areas by as much as 22 degrees Fahrenheit. In addition, heat islands affect communities by increasing summertime energy demands, air conditioning costs, air pollution, greenhouse gas emissions, heat-related illness, mortality, as well as water quality.”

That is why SOLACHROME is so effective when trying to combat these heat islands. SOLACHROME Integral Coloring Treatment for High-SRI Concrete adds infrared light reflective color that is weather resistant. It contains no materials that initiate, accelerate, or promote the corrosion of steel, coated metal, plastic, or rubber concrete reinforcements. It will not migrate from standing water, and can safely color concrete fountains, pools, water features, or concrete that will be polished and encounter damp or wet environments. These are just a few of the many reasons we offer this admixture to our U.S. customers in the United States.
