We are excited to be moving into the fifth and final stage of the Spring-Fishburne Flood prevention project. This is a multi-phased, $198 million dollar project that will improve drainage and reduce the frequency, severity, and duration of flooding during heavy rains and hurricanes in and around Charleston, South Carolina.
Planning for this project began in 2009, and though we are in the last phase of construction, the project is not expected to be complete until 2023. Once completed, however, this project will showcase impressive engineering designs that will help move water from the surface through a network of collection pipes that will channel to a pump station that will then empty the rain water back into the Ashley River.
According to the United States National Weather Service, these areas in and around Charleston flood from hurricanes and above-average rainfall nearly eight times a year. This is why this project is so vital to the community.
We are proud to help with the development of one of the communities Argos calls home, and we look forward to continuing to help our communities make their dreams realities.
