Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle

From start to finish water is used throughout our everyday ready-mix operations. The daily cleaning of our trucks is one of the biggest uses of this natural resource, using upwards of 200 gallons on each truck. To reduce the amount we use, our ready mix facilities recycle the water when cleaning our trucks. Our Charlotte and Columbia Divisions innovatively went above and beyond by implementing a dry wash out process, further reducing the amount of water used while still ensuring our high cleaning standards.

Nature and the Environment

Air quality is always one of our top concerns when measuring environmental impact. In Charlotte, we have installed dust collectors at our Reames Road facility, filtering out excess airborne particles that may result from some of our processes. Our efforts were recognized by the county and we received the Air Compliance Excellency annual award. The ACE award is designed to highlight local industry’s efforts in achieving compliance with their air quality permits, thereby helping to reduce pollution and improve local air quality.
