Although we didn’t place first, we are honored to be a semi-finalist for the 2022 Green Cross Celebration innovation category. Innovation has always been a fundamental aspect of Argos and can be seen in all aspects of our business, including safety training. Our two driving simulators, one stationed at our Atlanta training center and one mobile version, use some of the latest technology and provide our drivers with invaluable driving experience.

The number of rollovers has dropped by 60% over the last 2 years. These numbers support the fact that detailed training and experiences are influencing the front line and where the rubber meets the road.

As of right now, the simulator has two modules: 

Module 1- Highlights the importance of Rollover Prevention and allows our drivers to experience what might happen if one occurs. After our drivers completed the module, our safety team would sit and have a conversation about the experience. These conversations aren’t just about rollover prevention. It’s also about the return home and the importance of making the best decisions possible every day.  

Module 2- This module gives more control to our drivers, allowing them to experience what it’s like to drive our trucks. In the course, the main objective is to simply make it to the job site. However, along their route, they will experience road hazards that our drivers deal with every day, including speeding cars, wildlife, and difficult terrain. 

We are excited to announce that work on creating a third module has already begun, although a release date has not been announced yet.

Module 3- This next module will focus on defensive driving, where employees will need to utilize their knowledge to avoid some of the challenges that await them. We hope that this next module will provide our drivers with a meaningful and impactful experience that they will remember while on the road.
