The event, organized by the Global Cement and Concrete Association (GCCA), was held on June 13th and 14th, and was aimed to share the innovative initiatives that the companies have been leading and reaffirm their joint commitment to the 2050 climate ambition.
Juan Esteban Calle, Argos President, was a speaker at the meeting.

Let’s remember our commitment to climate change:
We are committed to mitigating direct and indirect CO2 emissions, generating the necessary capacities for adaptation and moving forward in the research and development of strategies for carbon capture and offsetting emissions.
Our challenging goals are:
- By 2030, we will reduce CO2 emissions by 29 % in our cement operations
- By 2050, we will offer carbon-neutral concrete, aligned with the Net Zero ambition plan of the Global Cement and Concrete Association (GCCA)
How will we achieve it?
- Maximizing waste co-processing.
- Reducing the amount of clinker in cement.
- Optimizing caloric and electrical energy consumption.
- Investing in cleaner technologies.
- Increasing the purchase of electrical energy from renewable sources.
- Increasing our offer of products with sustainability features, including low-carbon products, which contribute to the circular economy and climate change adaptation.
